The addition of Ozone into the water destroys bacteria thereby disinfecting the water. Simply put, Ozone purifies the water without changing the taste. In the case of waste water, Ozone decontaminates the water to levels that can be treated by the water treatment systems POTW. Ozone decomposes organic and inorganic material, petroleum hydrocarbons and other contaminates that may be in the water or waste water. Ozone also rebuilds the oxygen level in the water reducing Oxygen demand in treatment.
WeT-Tech offers many versions of the EnviroSaver II Ozone water purification systems. These units provide point of entry or point of use solutions for water purification. For example, The WH-400 is a point of entry water purifier that will provide pure drinking water for a commercial kitchen or a whole house. It is usually connected to the incoming water supply or immediately after the pressure tank in a private system.
Wet-Tech also offers the UTC-400, a smaller version water purifier for point of use applications. This unit can be connected to a kitchen sink or water fountain/bubbler for clean, clear, odor free cooking or drinking water.
Both systems use Ozone in purifying their water. Ozone is also used in large water purification systems worldwide. Cities such as Los Angeles and Paris, among many others, Ozonate their drinking water. Wet-Tech systems are smaller versions of the large public water treatment plants. As a result, they are capable of playing a key role in producing water that meets the high standards required for bottled water.
These systems only operate when water is drawn from a tap. A holding tank allows the Ozone that is injected into the water sufficient contact time so that purification and oxidation can take place. The majority of excess Ozone is then converted back into oxygen in the carbon filter. This process keeps the filter from becoming contaminated with bacteria and keeps it working effectively for extended periods of time.
